Couples therapy for parents in PortlandStruggling with Your Child? Fighting over how to discipline? Feeling unsupported?

I have been helping families navigate parenthood for over 10 years. Isn’t it time to get on the same page?

Couples Therapy for Parents in Portland:

We know it’s important for partners to be on the same page when it comes to raising kids, and for our kids to perceive us as a united front. Or maybe the issue is not about you and your partner so much as the way things are going with your little one. Power struggles and angry outbursts can feel demoralizing when you long for cooperation and loving harmony. Did you know that the reason for these behaviors has its roots in nervous system health and in the empathy center of the brain? If what you’re doing isn’t working well, if you find yourself trapped in a pattern you wish you could change, if you find yourselves constantly disagreeing over parenting, that’s a good indication that the two of you would benefit from counseling. As my favorite preschool teacher always said, “You can say the same thing with talking as you can with yelling.” Let’s work together to identify values that are essential to your family, and discover strategies to guide you there.

Parent Coaching Over the Phone (anywhere in US):

Effective, research-backed tools for parents when they need it the most. Phone counseling for parents anywhere in the U.S., that are affordable and focused. Use these targeted sessions to explore issues like anger, tantrums, shame, anxiety, discipline and back-talk. My background in psychodynamic and attachment therapy help us get to the root of the issue and get you back on the right track. You will come away from each session with tools for making things better. Single-session coaching is also available on any parenting topic.

Co-Parent Counseling in Portland:

Sometimes despite it all, what’s best for the family is for parents to separate. Though you’ve decided to separate, your kids can still find comfort and security in a consistent family flow. Co-parent counseling is an opportunity for you both to check-in about what’s going on in your family, learn how you can both support your child’s development and discover ways to best support kids through this difficult transition. My office is in downtown Portland, close to work and transportation. You’ll find it a safe space for difficult interactions, and together we will find our way through.
